When you’re the model of the moment, walked in every must-see show of Fashion Month and already scored a mega-hot superstar boyfriend, you’ve already accomplished quite a bit by age 18. But Bella Hadid wants to add another bullet point to her résumé: Olympian.

In the latest issue of PORTER magazine, the nationally-ranked equestrian opens up about her history with horses — and hopes for the 2016 Olympic games — while modeling Ralph Lauren Collection, Philsophy di Lorenzo Serafini and more high-fashion duds. Her costars in the spread? Some truly beautiful steeds.

“My devotion stemmed from my mom’s love of horses. I have been riding since I could walk and the fact that my mom knew everything about horses really helped my passion grow,” Hadid says. (And mom, Yolanda Foster, returned the love on Instagram posting a photo from the spread with the caption, “An equestrian at Heart, Always and Forever………. @bellahadid #PreciousLove”)
The model also shares that the sport helps her maintain balance when she’s constantly jetting around the globe. “You know how every model is like, ‘I do yoga.’ Well, I find horses have the same effect,” she explained. “You have to put your ego aside and concentrate on making the horse do the things you want it to do, and move in the way you want it to move.”
Judging from action Instas she posted earlier in the year, she’s a pro at that already.
